Our Belief

Horse interaction can support Social Work practice, along with the guiding principles and ethics of this profession. Spending time in green spaces with horses can facilitate engagement of individuals who may otherwise be reluctant to participate in clinical settings. Horses don’t see you for your challenges, they are not judgemental. Horses sense your energy and are curious to understand you in the moment. They will communicate with you through their response to you.

We can learn a lot from horses and their interaction with us. They can reflect things back to us, and help us to see things from a different perspective. This is valuable when seeking ways to understand and address challenges.

We all need assistance with achieving health and maintaining wellbeing from time to time, particularly if we are recovering from a life-threatening condition or substantial life challenge. Our health is made up of many different components, mental health is just one of these. Other areas in which equine assisted therapy may help include our physical strength, sensation, mobility, emotional regulation, speech, thinking, confidence, sense of self/identity, and social connection among others.

Everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and supported during life’s journey especially when exploring new ways of doing things or new ways of being. Wolfenden Healing intends to provide you with that support.
